Today is International Women’s Day. A day set aside for us to celebrate women globally; their achievements, challenges and to highlight some of the biases often imposed upon women in their societies. Over the next couple of days, some of our realtors will be sharing their experiences with these biases, especially with the public perception of women within the real estate industry and how they are choosing to navigate them.
While it is true that women have a high success rate in real estate and female representation is high, the industry does have room for improvement. Hear what these women have to say about their respective journeys in the industry. One thing that may strike you is the fact that beyond societal bias, one can have a bias against oneself and that can cause us to limit ourselves and not make certain moves that could be otherwise beneficial. One of these women has come to terms with this realization and will share how she’s choosing to forge ahead having detached herself from the idea that could have held her down.
